Last Minute Band started when James Burke and Ed Holloway left an impromptu band call “What Would Jack Do” to persue another adventure as both our styles of playing seemed to fit each other. Ed and James contacted a bass player and off it went. Last Minute Band started as “The James Burke Band” and had a few local show’s at Duggan’s Pub but we soon realized that a name change was needed to accommodate a marketing strategy.
Our original bass player, Mark Watts left the band to persue other projects so we felt the time to change the name was good. Fred Meyer, an awesome bass player of many years accepted the job of full time bass player and committed to the project. Wah Lah , Last Minute Band was born 2-1-12. We had our debut show at Bob’s TAVERN in Lincoln, Ne on 4-7-12 and have been booking and playing since.
UPDATE:
As of March 2020 and after a year of play in Las Vegas, Jim Reed returns to LMB as Lead Guitar and Vocals along side Walter killiam, also Lead Guitar and Vocals. Ash Sharp joins the band to play bass after a long stint with Chris Mackie who, moved to the East in search of his dream.
